Out of curiosity, why does this race have no penalties, but the others of Habololy do; such as ability score minuses or disadvantage on certain checks?

I didn't see a place for any penalties.  If you can think of any that would work, I would consider.  Since there isn't a need for balance among the races, we can have some with and some without.

No need for penalties, I was just curious about your thought process is all.  One thing though; shouldn't they have dark vision since there's no more low light vision?
